I was wondering while I was watching Naimah's dazzling swordwork at last SUN's DCTribal Cafe, are there still states in the US (and/or Canada/Mexico) where you cannot carry your sword or dance with it because it can be considered a weapon?

Heavens forbid, has any1 ever been in a position where they had an altercation where they had to take out or use their sword/schmitar in tow and use in a matter of civil self-defense?
(...hopefully NOT...)

I can't imagune a scenario that some1 knowing a bd'er has a sword in front of them would try to purposely provoke/instigate a situation where she would have to go into ''Xena Mode'', but you figure you'd only have to use mase (any gun owners? tzazers?) , not show some1 you can use a sword/schmitar other than balancing it on your head.
