Put the world on pause to immerse yourself in an intensive yoga and dance practice. Enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica, while studying with one of the leading artists in tribal belly dance. The weeklong intensive will include 20 hours of dance instruction with Rachel Brice, delicious and wholesome food, beautiful accommodations and a serene tropical setting for reflection & rejuvenation.

This retreat is suitable for all levels, with individual attention to challenge advanced dancers. A basic foundation in belly dance and/or yoga is required.

The Workshops
Rachel Brice will teach 20 hours of challenging and rigorous tribal belly dance. Participants will learn to develop a daily tribal dance practice, while mastering techniques for stage presence and performance. Prepare to sweat!
Rachel Brice
Rachel BriceRachel Brice has been studying yoga and belly dance since the age of seventeen. She began teaching yoga in 1996, after 7 years of yoga practice and training with Erich Schiffman. Also in 1996, she became a Certified Massage Therapist, and was a chiropractic assistant for three years. She studied full time in the University program of Dance Ethnology at San Francisco State. She has toured with The Indigo with Le Serpent Rouge and The Yard Dogs Road Show. Currently she is touring with the Bellydance Superstars.

The Food
Delicious, wholesome and nutritious cuisine is included! Pura Vida is famous for its great buffet cuisine. Guests, both vegetarian and those who enjoy fish or chicken, return not only for the world-class facilities and outstanding spa treatments, but very much for the delicious healthy cuisine. It's an exquisite marriage between the inspiration of many international chefs. The resort is committed to serving guests a huge variety of freshly prepared delicious recipes with exotic ingredients from the tropics and many home made chutneys, freshly baked cookies, granolas and other surprises.
Breakfast includes freshly squeezed juices, a huge variety of fresh fruit, yogurt, German bread, home made granola and a variety of hearty dishes like made-to-order omelets, tamales, home made tortillas, whole grain pancakes and more.
The lunches are famous for the huge selection of delicious gourmet salads, soups and main dishes, fresh juices and . . . a surprise every day!
Dinners are a feast of international cuisine, piquant flavors and aromas from many different countries along with a freshly made dessert every evening.
The best Costa Rican coffee and exotic tropical fruits are available in the restaurant all day long at no additional cost.
Accommodations and Fees
Pura Vida offers more than 50 accommodations for every taste and budget. From luxury suites with your own Jacuzzi hot tub, to charming A-frame Chalets, to tentalows (tents that aren't much like a tent).
All accommodations can be arranged with either two single beds or one king-size bed. The electrical system in Costa Rica is identical to that in the U.S. So, anything you bring (laptops, electric razors, hair dryers, etc.) can be used without the need of an adapter. Soap is provided in all the rooms; however, you should bring all other toiletries.
The rates below include: all dance classes, lodging, three meals per day, and ground transportation to and from the San Jose airport. Airfare, gratuity, bar and spa services are not included in the rates listed below.
Note: If you have a spouse or friend who would like to accompany you, but won't be taking the workshops, their cost is $600 less than the respective room rate below. This non-participant fee includes all meals, the shared room, and use of the Pura Vida facilities (pool, hot tub, other common areas). For example, if you and your non-dancing husband would like to share a Super Deluxe room, the registration fee would be $3,200 ($1,900 for you and $1,300 for him). If you would like to register a non-participant, please send us an email, and we'll send you registration details.
Also, if you register at the double occupancy rate and are attending the retreat by yourself, you will be assigned a roommate.
