Finding Your Voice: A Weekend of Personal Artistic Development with Rachel Brice

Saturday: Confident Improvisation.
Learn concepts and exercises to promote a confident improvisational performance for the intermediate to advanced belly dancer (performance experience recommended). Stage fright, assessing your practice, and developing strong technique will be discussed. Video feedback will be included. Please bring a journal to record your experiences. Class will begin and end with Viniyoga and drills.
Sunday: Creating Fusion Choreography:
Learn techniques for creating a lot of material from just a few basic movements. We will cover motif and development, staging principles, and dynamic group choreographies. All levels welcome. Intermediate dancers are encouraged to cultivate beginner’s mind for this workshop. Please bring a journal to record your experiences. You may bring a video camera to video your choreography if you wish. Class will begin and end with Viniyoga and drills..
For all workshops:
You will need: Comfortable stretchy pants, a form-fitting tank top or sports bra, and a warm tee shirt or sweatshirt. If you wish, bring a hip scarf and skirt for the dance portion of class. Bring water, you may sweat a lot. Handouts will be provided. For specified workshops, you may need a notebook or a Yoga mat, check workshop descriptions for details.
